A New Way of Life
I am a sister who came into the church at age 56. Now 27 years later I am still enjoying and appreciating the written works of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.
For much of my life, due to circumstances, I had been a seeker of the Lord. I married a Christian and we had three children. Our lives revolved around the church which at that time for us was liberal Christianity where we were both active. However, I knew little about the Bible until going to a small fundamental church where the pastor led us both into a living relationship with Jesus Christ and the Word. It was from him that we learned we should read the works of Watchman Nee.
The first book I read was Sit, Walk, and Stand and from this reading I realized it was different from anything I had previously read in that it left a real deposit within me. At this time we lived in Washington. A few years later, my husband lost his job and we moved to another place. Soon after, I bought another book by Watchman Nee entitled The Release of the Spirit. Many times I expressed the feeling to others that it was the best book I had ever read. It explained many things that had been unclear to me, and made me realize there was a gold mine of Christ in which I knew little.
After a few years our son had contact with the church in Seattle and a few months later led us into the church also. I am grateful for the light that has come so faithfully through the spoken and written words of Witness Lee during these many years. This enrichment has strengthened me to be a functioning member of the Body of Christ.
I am eternally thankful to the Lord for His faithfulness in leading us into fellowship with the local churches and showing us His eternal plan through the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee.
